Two of Europe's biggest football clubs, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, will meet in Gothenburg this summer when they face off at Ullevi Stadium on 8th of August. In 2025 the club reached a historic milestone by winning its first UEFA Champions League title as part of a remarkable continental treble season, cementing its status among Europe's elite clubs. The team coached by Luis Enrique is still in the race for the 2025/2026 edition, currently competing in the quarter-finals. Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have produced several memorable encounters in European competitions. The teams have met four times in official matches, sharing the wins with two victories each. Football history in Sweden Sweden has previously hosted major matches involving Manchester United. Most notably, the club lifted the UEFA Europa League trophy at Friends Arena in Stockholm in 2017 after defeating Ajax 2--0 in the final.
