Ravel) --- Pictures at an Exhibition Two vivid translations of art into music -- Martinu's mystical vision of the murals of the Renaissance master is followed by Mussorgsky's memorial to a painter friend. Mussorgsky originally composed it for piano, but Maurice Ravel transformed his rough-hewn original into a spectacular orchestral showpiece.
